The aim of the training is to get acquainted with modern methods of imaging diagnostics, the principles of selecting a method depending on the clinical picture and learning the analysis of ultrasound images in basic pathologies in the field of the musculoskeletal system.

The course will cover the following issues:
– construction of the ultrasound apparatus, settings
– description of imaging tests (USG, MRI, CT, additional tests: arteriography, arthrography, arthroscopy, discography, EMG, laboratory tests, myelography, biopsy, scintigraphy)
– ultrasound of the hip joint: diagnostics of inflammation, injuries of the joint capsule, muscles of the hip area, hip bursa, iliotibial band, tumors of the hip area
– ultrasound of the knee joint: synovium, joint capsule, collateral ligaments, sacral ligaments, patellas, menisci, muscle attachments, tendons and muscles around the joint, outline of bones and cartilage
– ultrasound of the Achilles tendon, upper and lower ankle joint, foot: traumatic changes, sprain – ligament injuries, overload changes, medial and lateral compartment, cartilage and bone damage, football ankle joint, degenerative changes, inflammatory changes, tumors, tumor-like changes
– ultrasound shoulder joint: rotator cuff, joint capsule, labrum, muscles around the shoulder girdle, shoulder bursa, tendon of the long head of the 2-head, shoulder-clavicular joint, clavicle-sternum joint
– ultrasound of the elbow joint: joint capsule, ligament apparatus, bone outlines, muscle attachments, course and morphology of nerves, bursae around the joint, diagnosis of inflammation, extensor attachment enthesopathy – “tennis elbow”
– ultrasound hand: wrist and fingers, arthritis, gout, degenerative disease, ganglion, glomeruloma, metacarpal fracture
